History of Grama Panchayat
Pulpatta Panchayat has a rich social, cultural, and agricultural history rooted in traditional village life. The region was once dominated by upper-caste social structures and hereditary occupations, but the arrival of Tipu Sultan brought important social changes. Agriculture, especially paddy cultivation under tenant farming systems, formed the economic foundation of the area. Education initially revolved around Sanskrit learning among upper-caste families before Malayalam education spread through village schools. From the 1960s onward, libraries and reading rooms encouraged literacy and intellectual development.
